Tamarisk plant/tree. Cut and remove and immediately apply herbicide to fresh cut. Highly invasive

BLACK MUSTARD 
INVASIVE SPECIES

Pull this weed by its roots. DO NOT weed whack this plant. It will seed cast and spread. 

TREE OF HEAVEN
HIGHLY INVASIVE

Tree of Heaven is not desired. Treatment, cut and immediately spry herbicide on fresh cuts to kill. 

Zone 2 Plants to keep and how to maintain

CREEPING ACACIA

Limit the height of this species. This will accumulate leaf liter under the canopy. 2'-3' MAX height. Keep away from the Zone 0 and Zone 1 area. Ideal further away from exterior walls.

CHAMISE

California native, very thick woody plant. Ideal in Zone 2. Limit height of brush 3'. Remove dead as needed. 

COYOTE BUSH

California native species. If located in Zone 0 Cut and remove. If in Zone 1 cut at 6" -18" in height. If in Zone 2 limit height 3'. If under a tree canopy remove this plant and keep lower branches on the tree limbed up vertically 6'. 

Remove these if in your FMZ Fuel management zones.

Poison Oak and Poison Ivy

If you are NOT immune to this plant do not risk coming in contact with it. Goats can eat this plant and have no issues. Herbicide treatment will also work on broad leaf when it is fully bloomed.

MEXICAN FAN PALM

This palm does not belong in our environment. Highly encourage to remove ALL of these palms. It is not considered green waste, just simply waste. Cut and remove completely. 

CASTOR BEAN
HIGHLY INVASIVE

Remove this plant by the roots. DO NOT BREAK THE SEEDS. This plant will spread. Remove before plant goes to seed. Remove from roots.

Zone 1 Good plants to have. Low growing, easy maintenance

Lantanas are low rowing plants. Limit height in Zone 1 to not exceed 18" in overall height. This will reduce flame height and flame length closer to the home

Rosemary is a good plant to have in Zone 1. Maintain overall height not to exceed 18". Remove dead sticks as needed. 

Succulents are ideal for Zone 1. Very little maintenance, very little water use.
